The story behind Gentle Summit Knitting Studio
Rooted in the calm traditions of Nordic craftsmanship, we guide knitters toward quiet mastery and heartfelt connection.
Our Story
Gentle Summit Knitting Studio began as a small circle of friends gathered around a kitchen table in the Pacific Northwest. Inspired by Scandinavian winters and the meditative rhythm of needles clicking together, we opened our doors in 2018.
Today our studio occupies a bright, timber-framed space overlooking Puget Sound where students of every background find refuge, instruction, and community.
- Slow craft — every stitch taught with patience and presence
- Natural materials — only traceable wools, linens, and silks
- Generous sharing — patterns and skills freely passed between generations
Mission & Values
We believe knitting teaches presence. Our classes move at a measured pace so you can truly absorb technique and enjoy the process.
From weekly drop-in circles to annual retreats in the San Juan Islands, our community remains the heart of every decision we make.
We source yarn from small farms and mills that respect land and animals, then encourage our students to repair, reuse, and gift their finished pieces.
